Exempt from CEUs?

Published

I've heard that you don't need RN CEUs if you are working on, say, your masters degree in nursing. Does anyone know this to be true? In other words, your continuing education in the form of a degree program qualifies as CEUs.... ? Either way, do you need to present proof of your CEUs to renew your license?

Certain nursing classes will qualify for CEUs - but you need to check your state BON's Web site to make sure which ones qualify; and how to convert the credit hours to CEUs. I know that my pharm, patho, and various didactic/clinical courses from my FNP program counted. However, other courses such as nursing research would not qualify.
