Excelsior transfer

Seriously though, once you have your RN through Excelsior you would have no problems getting a BSN from any university. Even Vanderbilt (which no one can afford anyway) accepts RN's with an excelsior degree. As far as transferring to a state that doesn't accept Excelsior degrees and getting an ADN, you would have to basically start from scratch, which IMO would be very self defeating. If you have an Excelsior ADN you can get your BSN online no matter where you live. Well maybe not in California going to an online California program but hey there are 100's of online RN-BSN programs online, it wouldn't be an issue at all. I graduated from Regents (Excelsior) and never a problem. Good Luck.

I DO NOT want to stir up a hornet's nest here:stone but has anyone had any experience with taking an Excelsior degree and transferring it to a traditional college e.g. RN to BSN or if moving to a state that does not accept EC and trying to get your ADN.

I don't want to cause more arguments but just wondered if anyone has tried this and how much they would accept.

Dutchgirl is right, you should have no trouble getting into RN-BSN programs. Most just want you to be licensed in the state of the college. In California, you may have some difficulty....several of the state schools ask for your nursing license prior to program entry.

Hello all. I am confused:uhoh3: (which isn't hard to do these days:) I am going to be starting an LPN program and know that I will want to go on to get my RN. Is this Excelsior an RN program? What is it exactly? I have heard so much talk about it and I am very interested. I was going to try the traditional way by going to a two year college somewhere but know that will end up taking me four or five years with all the pre reqs and the waiting list. I know I have a way to go before I have to worry about that but I really would like any information on it! Thanks a bunch.
