Excelsior Question: pre-reqs

Hey all :)

I am an LPN and I am thinking about signing up for Excelsior... I have tons of questions, many of which are being answered as I read this board. I am still having some questions though and I thought you all may be able to help me. So here I go...

I haven't done any of my pre-reqs and I am thinking about just doing them through Excelsior, then enrolling in the nursing courses, etc. My question is, what are the pre-reqs like through Excelsior? Particularly the English and Math tests, how do they work? Is it essay writing and math questions? How can those be multiple choice at the test center?

I did my pre-req's through Straighterline.com. They're much cheaper than doing the Excelsior exams. If you have any questions re: Straighterline, pre-req's, please let me know. :)

Hey...

I have tons of questions... I actually was on Straightliner's website yesterday but it looked kind of fishy... I dunno, how did everything work for you? Did excelsior accept all of straightliner's credits?

Hello,

I am cureently enrolled in EC Lpn-RN program. I would like more info on straightline. I have completed a few of my pre-reqs at the local CC but I still have about 4 more that I have to complete along with the nursing courses. I have been studing to the AP exam currently, but as I said before I would like more info on straightline. Any info you guys have is greatly appreciated!!!! :nurse:

Hello,

Would like more info on straighterline. Enrolled at excelsior college now and need to complete a few pre-reqs. Any info you could give would be greatly appreciated.

I think I will also need at least one more pre req for Excelsior. I haven't submitted my transcripts yet to find out but this was also information I was curious about. I heard someone else mention Penn Foster as well as a cheaper avenue.

I used penn foster for the information literacy requirement. it was $80 (including transcript) as opposed to $355 or something like that.

Where can I complete the microbiology pre-reqs?

I took the information literacy back in September. I don't remember whether or not the price included the sending off of transcripts. I have been scouring their site for a good hour trying to find a way to have my transcripts sent off to Excelsior. Any idea how to do it?
