Excelsior Exams - Do Not Pass!

Hey everyone - what happens if you fail an Excelsior exam? Can you take it again?

Yes, you can repeat the exam but there is a limit on the number of repeats. Refer to the current policy which can be found on their website.

Thanks for the speedy response. I finally got accepted this morning and was just curious as to what happens if you dont pass a test. I didnt know if you were done and they failed you or what???

The testing center that I went to gave hints on your way out the door, as a matter of fact they would print out the results. I do not know if this is standard procedure at all the testing centers. I do not believe it is standard policy.

If you don't pass a test you can retake it but you must wait 45 days before you can reschedule. If you fail a second time you have to wait even longer, I THINK 90 days but read the student handbook for your program, its in there. Pearsonvue centers will give you your test results upon completion of your exam and on the back of it shows percentages of the different areas you were tested on & how you did. Good luck with the program!

If you fail the test and retake it at the testing center.. is it the same test again or a test with different questions?

The questions are different but from the same content area.
