evidence of nursing practice

Published

hello everyone i'm new on this site and french speaking so sorry for my "bad" english

my question is for a friend of mine. she 's applying at CNO and she receive a letter with an evidence of practice that expire on december 2017. After that she receive a call from CNO and they say that her evidence is already expire but she does not receive any letter to confirm the call. She works as Nurse Cepi in Québec until 2015. So can she still running for NCLEX or not? thanks

If she is applying to become licensed as a RN, she needs to show proof of practice as a Registered Nurse within the past three years. How does oiiq define 'Nurse Cepi'? Is it a term for an unlicensed nurse? If so, then her work as a Nurse Cepi is not proof of recent practice as a Registered Nurse.

Thank you yes a cepi is an unlicenced nurse

Is she an internationally educated nurse? or was she educated in Quebec?

She's gradued from UOttowa but failed at Oiiq exam

She can write the Nclex but even if she passes the CNO will not allow her to practice as RN until she shows proof of evidence of practice. This will require her to go back to school and do a continues program for up to 18 months. I am doing a Continuous education program now for evidence of practice. I really didn't want to writ the Nclex until am done with this program.

Did she become licensed in Ontario after she graduated? If so, when did she graduate? Has it been less than 5 years since she graduated or since she worked as a RN in Ontario? Ontario is the only province that requires proof of recent practice within 3 years, the other provinces require proof of recent practice within 5 years. If she is within 5 years she can apply to another province.

She's graduade in dec 2013...so i will report all your writes to her. Thanks to everyone for your help and quick response.

I m Internationally educated Nurse, I passed the IENCAP exam recently and finally eligible for take NCLEX-RN exam but my evidence of Practice will be expire on next month 10-03-2018.

My question is how long I have to do that additional education training program with CNO ? is it like the Bridging course? I did IENCAP exam , because I don't want to do Bridging course for GAP, But now Im confusing about that additional education program, do you have any Idea ?

thanks

Did you contact CNO and ask them? They're more likely to have accurate and up-to-date information for you. I believe that if you have passed the IENCAP exam and have been given authorization to write the NCLEX, then you won't need further education, just to write and pass the NCLEX. But what having your evidence of practice expiring before you can complete your registration is something only CNO can advise you about.

Yeah ! I did contact them couple times. Unfortunately, they do not know the length of that additional education program . CNO will send me the letter after their evaluation , I guess it will take another 2-3 months. I don't want to do those Bridging course to waste my time :(

It is roughly 18 months. Not less than that. Am doing the same now. It is a lot of stress and money.
