Evidence Based Paper Help Please

Published

I have to write an evidenced based paper. I need to pick a nursing issue and research it. It sounds simple but it is not. The issue has to be something that I question. I have to research why something is done a certain way or why it is being done wrong. The issue must have experiments and data to back up the conclusion. I was going to write about inducing hypothermia after cardiac arrest but I could not come up with enough data. Do any of you amazing nurses ever question why or how you do something everyday? I'm just trying to come up with a topic to research. Any good controversies going on right now? Thanks for any input :)

How about the push away from using Betadine to using Hibicleans?

Or the use of Magnesium Sulfate to decrease the rate of hypothermia in post-op patients who are shivering?

Does your paper have to be an original idea meaning coming from you or can you use other papers?

What about the push away from using plastic wash basins and instead using the handi-wipe things?

If we put our heads together I am sure you'll come up with a great idea!

Let me know if you can use others research articles...

Here are some that might relate to your original thought:

Thank you so much for the response and the ideas. Maybe I will try to stick out my hypothermia topic. Basically I just needed an idea of what to write about. It does not have to be an original idea because I have to have support and data to back it up. I just have to prove why something controversial is done a certain way. Thanks again!!!

There is a TON of data about hypothermia post arrest - if you're interested, use that.
