I'm debating taking 'Spanish for the Medical Professional'.. is this a good idea? I took Spanish all of high school, but want to brush up. Is it worth it to take this course?

I think a lot of the terminology that you might need you could easily just get from a vocab book. When I took a class (as an independent study) it was all vocab.

I think Spanish is a good language to brush up in. However, it totally depends on where you will be working. it might not come in that handy in Mississippi but you would be golden in San Diego.

HA! I agree with the post above me.

I'm a nursing student in California now with my minor's in Spanish. It helps so much especially when communitcating with patients.

Some places will pay you more for that language ability, others will prefer you over other applicants because you have that special language skill.... trust me, take Spanish.

I took a Spanish medical course, was somewhat helpful. Teaches you the basics,

Hi, I definitely think you will benefit from that class. Spanish is the second language in the US, and you will encounter Spanish speakers in your career. It depends where you are too, in some places there will be little and in others there will be a lot. I live in Florida and Spanish is a must here. I'm fluent, so I cant interact with all the Spanish speaking pts. And I also took french, just cause its another abundant language in the world.

Good luck :)
