ER 2nd Interview - 7 hours long?

Hello everyone,

I have a 2nd interview for a New Grad Residency program in a busy county hospital ER. I am so excited - it is an amazing hospital, one where I would have the opportunity to learn a lot and to serve a community that is near and dear to me!

But I am also a nervous wreck. They did not provide many details about the format of the interview, other than it would be 7 hrs long and we would need to bring 6 copies of our resume.

Does anyone have any input into what a 7 hour interview for an ER new grad position might entail? I'm thinking it must be a panel type interview - but my mind is spinning at the thought of an interview lasting 7 whole hours!

Thank you in advance!

I would think there might be a simulation component as well as a shadow, and meeting with various members of the team.

I second the above. Likely you will be shadowing as well.

It will probably be a panel interview. That's probably why you need six copies of your resume. Also probably some share time and a chance for the staff to get to know you and give their input. They may make you take a med test.

Wow!! 7 hours?!?!? May the force be with you ?
