I'm taking my NCLEX tomorrow (OMG I'm so nervous!)
I'm trying to remember my electolyte balances and I'm getting all confused now. Does anyone have a little chart or something?
Like Calcium gluconate reverses hypermagnesia/hypocalcemia and vice versa
and Kayexalate for hyperkalemia and potassium supplements for hypokalemia
I don't remember what brings down sodium and you give sodium for hyponatremia.
And that in renal Potassium retained makes sodium excrete and stuff like that.
I'm like freaking out! :smackingf :selfbonk:

Good luck on your exam! I wouldn't let yourself get too stressed out over one particular topic. In the grand scheme of things, electrolyte issues are probably not going to make or break you. You'd probably be better off going to sleep and making sure that all of the info you do know will be fresh in your mind tomorrow.
I looked around and had a surprisingly hard time finding a chart like you describe, but there is good info about each of the electrolytes and minerals at this link:

njnursing we will both pass this test tomorrow. we will both do fine!!! we just have to relax and keep the faith. i have tried to stay positive all day, and i think its helping. i will keep that faith tomorrow while i take the exam too. don't stress about studying anymore...give your brain a rest and keep your mind off the exam for now. best of luck to the both of us tomorrow! :)
