So I need some feedback on this. I am getting ready to have some elective surgery. What I am having done is not really germane to the discussion. I realize with the IPN junk, that I need to request a monitoring interruption and all that jazz. i also know that I will have to give them a negative pee test prior to returning to work. Got all that. One of my questions is that am i required to "ask permission" to have my surgery or do i even need to disclose details, other than to just say it's personal medical care.
Also given that the majority of information we all get is second and third hand hearsay, it is my understanding (i hope I am wrong) that we have to provide a list of what the surgeon/anesthesiologist gave us. That seems kind of stupid and a violation of privacy. So long as nothing comes up in the back to work pee test, what business is it of theirs?
Also as I wound up here for a mental health issue and not addiction of any sort, i don't see why I have to unload all of this on my providers. (I am reasonably certain that the anesthesiologist doesn't care that I was depressed 3 years ago.) I refuse to allow myself to be treated like an addict, by people who don't know any better because IPN. says so.
My personal chuckle regarding this is that if IPN insists on knowing what I am having done, i would love to say "I'm having IPN extracted from my rectum."

You do not have to ask for permission for the surgery.
As your other questions. I don't know.
I hope your procedure is uneventful.
