Hey there, I attend ecpi and they decided that we must take a Kaplan predictor in order to graduate. Unfortunately I failed it the first time. We had to take predictor 2 and they caught people cheating and changed the test which I failed again. I was to retake the class again I was prepared to take it, but I received a phone call saying congratulations we are sending your transcript and you can sit for nclex. 2 weeks goes by and they called us back in saying we changed our minds, u must take take a predictor. They gave me a predictor which all the students who took it failed, but they let them go since they passed predictor 2. What I'm trying to say I finished in June 2015 and they are still holding my transcript. Can someone help me please. I have been working with a nclex tutor and she said I have a high chance of passing my boards the first time.

Which campus do you attend? I also attend ECPI, so I am just curious. From what I understand all nursing programs require some sort of exit predictor exam. It sounds like you just have to go back and pass the 3rd one. They do this basically to ensure they earn a certain percentage of pass rate from their graduates; that's how they maintain their accreditation. I am sorry you are going through this. You should go to your campus and find a way to take that 3rd exam. If your NCLEX tutor says you are prepared to pass the actual NCLEX, then the predictor shouldn't be a problem. Wish I could be more help to you!

In a nutshell, you will need to pass your former school's exit exam if you want to take NCLEX. Your former school has an NCLEX pass rate that they need to maintain in order to remain in good standing with the state board of nursing.
I had to pass an ERI exit exam prior to graduating from an LVN/LPN program. I also had to pass the Kaplan exit exam prior to graduating from an LPN-to-ASN bridge program. Students who failed required remediation and retesting before school officials felt comfortable enough to release the transcripts to the BON.
