ECard unprofessional?

I went on an interview and wanted to send a thank you note. I was wondering if anyone thought sending an Ecard thank you note would be unprofessional. At first glance you might think it's a little impersonal, but it is 2005 and I don't know, some of these animated notes are more fun than anything I could find in a store. Any thoughts?

Hello, MikeyBSN,

No to the Ecard. You should send a hand written note on plain or personalzied stationery. It shows effort and is professional.

Plus - it is important to add a little memory jog of something said in the interview to remember you by ;)

Don't send anything "fun." During my interview, a lot of the focus was on how the hospital was shifting to email for communication, computers for charting. So in that instance, I felt comfortable sending a brief and professional thank you email (I'd also applied online with them, they really are embracing the computers there). If you choose to go this route, make sure your email address is professional (not nurseilovepuppies(at)aol or 69nurse69(a)comcast). But if the facility isn't particularly computer oriented, I'd stick with the snail mail. Either way, mention something about the interview to show interest and that you were paying attention. And definitely NO ANIMATION!!
