Hello everyone! I am new to this forum and just in need of a little moral support.
I reside in the state of California. Sacramento to be exact. Well back in 2003, I was an ebay powerseller. I ended up in trouble and was charged with "grand theft" and spent the night in jail. I eventually was given 2 years probation in 2005. My case went on for 3 years until I was actually charged. I ended up with a misdemenor w/2 years probation. My private attorney was able to get my felony down to a misemenor.
In 2004, I was charged with a "felony" because I had ordered some products from a company and put them in my bankruptcy. I was convicted because of the fact that I "knew" what I was about to do. I am currently on probation 2 years and have to pay restitution back. Which I am currently doing now. I was placed on house arrest for 3.5 months. I had no private attorney on this case and probably why I ended up w/a felony.
I am applying to the nursing program on "monday" and I asked the director of the nursing program if I would be accepted to the program. She told me "yes" however, before sitting before the board, I would have to get all court documents etc, prior and submit all this to the board of nursing.
I was also told by the BON that they take every case into consideration?
My question to anyone out there:
Please respond if you have been in a similar situation in California, like myself? Was it successful?
Thanks for all your time.

Each case is determined on its own merit. What ever happened to another nurse has absolutely no bearing on your case. You should get a determination by the BON before you even start the program.
This is the same with every state. Each state decides each case on its own, and only the BON can give the final determination. It doesn't matter what anyone else tells you.
