E-3 Visa Question

My question is: can an Australian nurse who has completed NCLEX-RN exam apply to the US as an E-3 Visa applicant to work as an RN? Can a US hospital sponsor an Australian nurse eligible for this working visa?

I know generally that you need the visa screen, green card etc, but I was wondering as this is a new working visa and it does not explicitly DISallow nurses in the visa description.

Thanks for any info.

The only visa that will be granted for the RN is the permanent visa, or the green card. There are no tempoary work visas being issued.

The one that the RN actually falls under is called the EB-3. That is for the green card.
