Hey all,
I have been considering moving to the Triangle area for a while. I enrolled in an NP program at a school other than Duke or UNC CH (university of alabama at birmingham). I know Duke is the home there and very present, rightfully so. Do you get a feel though that outside NP students are given a fair chance, in terms of in clinicals? Are they met with any kind of rejection, have you noticed?
Just wanted to say, I'd have loved to go to UNC CH or Duke, but at the time I didn't think I was moving to the Triangle anymore, and the tuition for Duke is crazy unless you get reimbursement by working for them....I loved the campuses of both schools though, had visited.
Thanks for feedback!
PS I know this is a weird question and I hope one that isn't even warranted in asking. I ask though because in my visits there I felt a lot of rivalry - you know how big college names are, even noticed a little among the nurses I met when I was at an open house. But I just wanted to ask about this, thanks
