DS-230 expiration?

Published

Hi, guys!

Would like to ask if my DS-230 can expire. I was able to complete the requirements last Sept 2006 but since retrogression came in I had to wait until visa became available. Now that EB-3 is current again, do I have to send another DS-230 form again and wait for 4-6weeks of processing? How long is a DS-230 form valid? 1 year or 6 months?

My DS-230 form was sent to me July 24, 2006. NVC was able to receive it August 21, 2006.

My case completed September 26, 2006.

Thanks in advance!

The paperwork that you submitted to your attorney is just fine.

I hope so. thanks!

received email of my lawyer and this is what she said: (although i am wondering why she said my case was not completed when i called nvc last year they said case completion was august 23, 2006. those with august 19 case completion was still interviewed (they were the last batch before retrogression). )

your case which was submitted to nvc, was not completed, therefore it fell into the retrogression. nvc informed us that any case affected by retrogression will require that new updated visa applications be submitted, together with any new original documents that may have expired. they are in the process of sending out these requests. this office did not receive the request for your case yet.

i guess those were the june 4 letters that nvc told you that were sent oput but maybe this letters have not reached our lawyers yet.

hi, suzanne!

so, what do u make of this? got this post from a agp_ph who is in the same boat as i am.

Your attorney should have any of the information from you to provide the USCIS with any of the needed documents that they require again.

If any of your documents expired during the waiting time, then they will need to be updated, such as nursing license and things like that. Birth Certificates do not expire. Marriage Certificates do not expire. Transcripts do not expire. New police clearances may be needed again.

Best bet is to be in contact with your attorney over this. They know your particular file.
