I was sent for a per employment drug screen today, but before I went I stoped and got the list of all my prescriptions along with taking the prescription with me to get he appointment. When I arrived I signed the papers and tried to give them my list and was told they won't be needing that. I was worried because one of my prescriptions is phentermine 37.5 and I had taken one the day before along with two days of NyQuil for my cold I've been trying to get over. I was told tha the dr will call me when the test can es back to ask me questions about my results. I called m Dr Office and asked her if I should be worried about failing the test and she said it will probably show up for positive and just have them call her. I really need this job and I don't want my new employer to think I'm a drug i.e. Isn't it strang that they wouldn't that my prescription list.? I also take 100 mg topmax everyday and also told that can show up false positive this is all crazy I'm 40 years old with two grown children and getting ready to adopt another baby what do I do???? HELP

It's very common for them to only ask for proof of scripts if test comes back positive for pre-employment stuff. If it shows false positive they send it in for more in depth testing which should differentiate. But if anything comes back positive then they should ask for your proof of what you take. Don't waste a panic.

BTW, what benefit would taking only one diet pill bring? Seems like you would need more than one dose to evaluate the efficacy of a medication like that. Not the best decision...
I'm guessing to see what it feels like. Phentermine truly feels like speed or cocaine when you take it.

This is a Controlled Substance Level IV (not a big risk for abuse, but controlled non the less) and and has a half life of up to 24 hours. It shouldn't be in your system anymore. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
This happened to me too. I take Ritalin. I took in a prescription bottle and was told they would simply call me if they needed clarification. Everything ended up working out for me, so don't worry too much. You have a prescription and you have a way to verify that.

As long as you have valid & active scripts, you're fine. By the way, I take 300mg BID of Topamax. There's nothing to worry about.
