Drop out

I was dropped out of an accelerated BSN  program in the third semester. Now I want to start afresh and start an Associate degree from a community college. My question is Can I hide my previous education or do I have to disclose it? Also, will it affect my future admission process?

Most, if not all programs are going to require submission of transcripts from all schools you've attended.  As for whether it might affect you in future admission applications, it's possible.  To be prepared, you might reflect on why you were dropped, and what you have done to correct/overcome these issues.

Best wishes.

I have completed my other bachelor's from Asia. So I am going to submit those. What if I do not send them my dropout transcripts? How will they find out?

In my personal experience, every one of the four programs I've attended required submission of all transcripts, regardless of whether the course work was applicable or not.  If you are asked to submit transcripts from all schools attended and don't, and they find them later, there is an excellent possibility that you will be dropped for a lack of academic integrity.

Do you really want to risk this?

So that means Should I not try in community college? Is that the end of my nursing career?

I don't think it neccesarily means you won't be accepted.  There are a number of posts here by members that had been dropped from one program, and were accepted into, and successful in another program.  But you need to complete an honest self evaluation as to why you were dropped from your program, what you did during the program to better your performance, and what are you doing now to better prepare yourself to continue.  And, you need to be able to clearly articulate this during an application interview.

You might consider making an appointment with an admissions advisor on the nursing faculty at one of the community colleges near you.

Best wishes.

Yeah, I completely agree with the person above!! I know plenty of ppl who’ve dropped out from another nursing program and were accepted into another one. Just be real, true, and honest with yourself and to the programs. Deciding not to disclose info/transcripts won’t get you very far. Good luck!

the grades/transcripts are available from a clearinghouse

the school WILL find out and if you fail to disclose you'll be dismissed
