Does this sound right?

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm new to travel nursing and have been looking for my first assignment. This is what I have been offered:

$37.00/hr (taxable hourly rate)

$220/wk housing allowance tax free (I have dogs so I wanted to find something suitable). I also verified and asked is this the hourly rate of pay plus additional monies for housing and she said yes.

I'm told that its 40/hr wk guaranteed, its located in NC. Agency is fast staffing.

Does this sound right? I just don't want any surprises. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hard to compare but I tried with Pan Travelers calculator. I work for Cross Country and they have much lower hourly rate but also pay tax free "per diem" money.

The housing seems low but I guess it's cheap rent in NC? Anyway, it looks like you're making a bit less than me and Cross Country isn't known for high pay. All contracts are a different though.

Are you getting any travel expenses reimbursed? Per diem? How's the insurance look? Do you get charged for missed shifts or hours? Is this 13 weeks? Did they give you examples of pay for other jobs?

I hope someone from Fastaff chimes in. I'm thinking of registering with them.

that sounds low to me. its roughly about 1200-1250 weekly pay. however, i have never worked in NC before. i work in texas (low paying state) i am getting a little over 1300 a week.

I start my first travel assisgnment next week. They offered me a tax free housing allowance of $500/week. Do anyone know if I would have to repay this money back on my taxes at the end of the year?
