Does it really matter?

My question is: do nursing porgrams care where you do your pre-reqs?

I don't think so.

I attend a community college and I love it. My A&P instructor is an MD and most of my classes are small, so my instructors know my name.

As long as both schools are in the same state (I am am assuming both are public institutions) you shouldn't have any problem transfering classes from one to the other. Going from one state to another can be a hassle sometimes and even trying to bring public university credits into a private one can be tricky.

My local CC gives .5 point credit for each science pre-req taken at their facility, toward your total point score to get into their ADN program. So that probly does make a big difference. However, the BSN program at the University, since it's a 4 year school, only goes by GPA (likely because many people would be transferring in at that point from a 2 year college.)

You can try emailing your nursing advisor at the school you want to attend (or several of them) and ask them all directly, I recieved good responses that way.

I took many of my pre-req's at a CC before getting admitted to a private college. They took the credits with no problem. The only problem I had was that I took a 4 credit English comp class at the CC, and the Eng comp class at the private college is only worth 3 credits, so they only credited me for the 3 credits. Not a big deal, but it did tick me off.
