Hi there! Just want to hear or know whether getting your ADN first then doing an online ADN-BSN bridge program is acceptable in a hiring manager's eye. Does it matter if you didn't get your BSN IN a school?
I'm just looking at alternatives in case I don't get accepted into an accelerated BSN program next year.
Thanks,
Michelle

A degree is a degree. No one cares whether you sat in a classroom or at home on your computer to earn it. In fact, I think online classes can be harder because teachers will often require more writing and assignments to take the place of that face-to-face discussion you'd get in a classroom. And you often don't get that instant feedback a teacher will give you in class, or the ideas generated from a discussion group with other students. It's a different way of learning but it's still learning and the degree is exactly the same in the end.

That's the route I took and I have never had a problem. As long as the online program is accredited. When you complete your online program you get a BSN and it doesn't say you completed it online.
Thanks:)

Please be aware that programs like Excelsior and Regents are NOT accepted in all states for licensure. If you are not going to move around anywhere that might be fine. Should you need your states license to reciprocate to another like Kalifornia then you might consider a traditional brick-and-mortar program.

A good way of splitting the difference is taking an online program through a brick-and-mortar university. Many state schools offer reasonably-priced accredited programs online. When you graduate, your degree is from the institution and does not specify an online program. But you must be extremely organized and self-motivated to successfully complete online classes. If you aren't, it's very easy to fall behind.
Thanks!

license and degree is what matters on paper. How you present yourself matters a lot as well
