Does is matter where you go to school?

Published

I am really thinking nursing is the career I want to persue. So my question is does it matter where or what school I attend? Like can I go to communty college/vocational school? Or would it help me more in the future if I go to a school with a good name. Does that make sense?

I am trying to figure out where to start.

Thanks

As hard as it is to get into nursing school these days, I would take any school that would take me (well not any school, but I think you get the idea) If jobs to not care what grades you got I doubt they care what school you went to, unless its not accredited or somthing, but then you would not be able to take the boards anyway.

Lisa, although I agree with HeartsOpenWide, you might want to do a little research of your own before you decide where to go to school. I was worried about choosing a school, and I found this site: http://www.nursingprograms.com/rn-registered-nurse. It lays out the tracks that are available to prospective RNs.

i don't think it matters what school you attend, so long as the school is accredited and has a good reputation/pass rate. the comm. college i'm going to has a really good nursing program or so i've heard. :)
