Do programs give "conditional" acceptances?

Published

I have a Bachelors in Psychology. I am applying to a BSN program as a Junior transfer. I have 3 pre-req's remaining.

Do nursing programs give conditional acceptances? For example: Your acceptance is conditional upon the completion of the remaining pre-req's with above a 3.0?

Has anyone heard of this? Has anyone been offered this option?

Yes. If a program allows you to apply with prequisites in progress, then successfully completing the outstanding prerequiste as a condition of acceptance is quite common.

I have been formally accepted to begin a second-degree program this fall, but my acceptance letter stipulated that I must provide proof of completing Microbiology with a B- prior to the fall semester.

Yes, I was accepted with the stipulation that I make up missing units. Depends on situation.

All of the acceptances are conditional at the school I applied at. Early conditional acceptance is for those completing some of the required courses, and all applicants are conditional based on needing to get things done, like criminal record check, vaccinations, First Aid, etc.

Yes this is totally normal. School need to see whether or not you have completed the course. For my school you had to have a C or better in order to maintain your acceptance status.
