Do you have a Mosby's dictionary?

Mosby's medical dictionary is included in the *optional*books for my A&P class. I'm thinking though that this might be a great resource to have throughout the rest of my classes and nursing school (that is if I get in!) IF you have one, do you find it useful? I know they come out with revised versions eevry so often, so I'm wondering whether to get it now or later on.

I have a Tabers and a Mosby..I LOVE my Mosby. Its got great pics on almost every page, its an easier to read type, and there are added refrences sections. The Mosby let me wrap my brain around things that are kind of abstract to me..cell mitosis etc. I need to SEE it to understand it for some things and thankfully, Mosby actually has pictures of cells etc. Helped me a great deal.

I use both the Taber's and the Mosby equally. What one might not have the other does and vice versa. I think I'd fight just as hard to keep both if someone tried to take one or the other.

FYI, the hardcover version has sections (very useful sections) that the "pocket" sized version does not. And the pocket version is only a couple of dollars cheaper. I'd put out the extra $3-4 and get the full sized hard cover version..JMHO.

When I went through nursing school, our Mosby dictionary came w/ the A&P book. Even though I've been out of school for a few years now, I still buy a new one whenever it comes out. Even my kids look at it (don't know if that's a good thing or not, but that's a whole other thread..lol)

Thanks for the input. I didn't realize the pocket edition would be lacking. I thought of getting that one for sheer convenience since it is smaller to carry around if I need it. I think I will get one, but not at the school bookstore. THey are way overpriced and I've seen it cheaper at Barnes & Noble or Borders. Thanks again!
