I'm looking at a telephonic disease management type job. I'm a people person and love talking to patients and working out there problems so that aspect sounds great to me, but in worried I'll miss face to face with them. How has this aspect been for you guys?

After working as a PHN for 4 years then clinic for another, I don't miss it at ALL. But, I'm a cynic and an introvert. And burnt out.

I am not a telephonic CM for either of my employers, but I work UR/UM for one and due to electronic charting, no longer see patients in that setting. With that said, I do not miss it probably because I still work clinically as a CM for my other employer. :) Maybe you can get a second job or keep your current job, where you can continue to receive face time with your patients? See if you like it or prefer it before you decide one or the other. I personally prefer to do both. :)

I didn't miss it at all when I did telephonic work.
Now I work out of a home office and have wonderful relationships with people I never see, and have the added benefit of not having to wash my hair or dress nice most days. :) There are compensations.
