I feel like a failure I passed all my classes with more A's and one B but I got a 52% on my teas test do you think I am able to make it Into the nursing program? This was my second attempt and I feel like my nerves get the best of me idk why and I failed...I did study and study and when I start the test I freeze.

Honestly, no. 52% is pretty low for the TEAS and I would honestly look into retaking it. The lowest admitting TEAS score the semester I got in was an 80%. I know two people who were alternate listed that got in, but their scores were 79.98% and their overall GPA was a 4.0, so their combined GPA and TEAS score, which programs use to admit students, was assisted by having a perfect GPA. I also remember seeing the national average when I took it was in the 70s/80s too. If I were in your shoes I would write down why you get nervous during the exam, which parts of the exam make you nervous, and try to look up tips to overcome those. What helped me not be nervous was getting a good night sleep the night before, eating my favorite breakfast, and bringing essential oils into the exam room to rub on my wrist to calm me down. But...keep studying, plenty of RNs today have failed the TEAS and/or NCLEX and still became RNs. Dont give up!!
Hi Leo James
Thank you so much for the information and for your words encouragement.
Another question, is there colleges where they dont need ATI teas scores to enter the nursing program? If yes have any idea?

Hi,
I took the teas yesterday and scored a 72, which is what I needed so I’m content with it. My exact study regimen involved one full month of studying. I purchased the teas study guide and the mometrix. I also went through the entire question bank for A&P on the teas mastering app. I spent a lot of my time on anatomy and math bc those were my weakest subjects. Also I have not finished A&P so I had to spent a lot of time learning the major systems.I did not study at all for reading and that ended up killing my score (got a 66 on it). For English, I just chose a handful of rules to study that kept showing up on the practice tests. I also only scored a 68 on English, but again, I didn’t study much for it. It is a big test and one that I feel is challenging only in that you must know the tricks they try and use to trip you up. If you completely go through the ati guide and all the other materials that I used, then you will do fine! Im average and I had to study a lot for it the past month but it does pay off. You can do it!!

I say retake it again. I know exactly how you feel. I did amazing in my pre-reqs and overall GPA is pretty high. However I got a 58.7% on my teas. I plan to retake it, I need a 70% or better.
Don't let this discourage you in any way, shape or form.

I have no idea what your program requires, or if they provide info/stats from prior admits, but 52% seems too low from anything I have ever seen. Entry to most schools is pretty competitive. If you can take it again, go for it. But again, you should check with your program or advisor for the best advice.
