I am currently trying to get into my local 1 year LPN course (took my TABE test today. Failed the math :'( have to try again). A friend of mine, who is an RN, told my that the first 6 weeks of LPN school is learning CNA work, and that you get certified in that time. Is that true?

Depends on the school, often you need to complete nursing fundamentals, be approved by your school and sit for the written exam then pass the background check to be certified

This is what I did. After our first semester, I was able to submit my transcript and sit for the exam.
