Do BSN programs require a language?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently a pre-nursing student at a community college planning on transferring to a BSN program after completing my prereqs.

The school I am planning on transferring to requires transfer students to take 24 credits at their college of arts and sciences before transferring into the college of nursing. Because of this, I am leaving a few things to take at that college instead of at my current school.

I've read before that BSN programs require two years of a language. Is that true?

Also: I've read that some schools require two years of algebra and geometry. The only math I am taking in my current program is remedial algebra and statistics. What was your experience?

Thanks in advance!

One of the schools I will be applying to requires 8 hours of Spanish (Baylor University in Dallas, Texas). Your best bet would be to look at the prerequisites listed for nursing on the university's website. Most, if not all will provide the required prerequisite information online to prospective nursing school candidates.

It varies by the school. Here in CA, the UCs require a year of a language, but the CSUs don't. The nursing programs don't seem to have a requirement, but I'll tell you, it would really be helpful.
