difficulty in anatomy 2

Published

I am debating whether (for 2nd time) to withdraw from Anatomy II). I have tallied my total pts so far in class and i am not doing well. We have 5 more tests/labs but at best I could only make a C......and with nursing C might as well be a D.

I am also having some problem with depression which is contributing to me not doing well in this class and trying to find a job. Both of those problems are contributing. I do take med for depression.

I took Anatomy I at different school and got an A so i know i am not dumb. The school there had a great teacher. The teacher i have now is not good........and doesn't care how well you are doing or not doing........... Any opinions........

Can you find a tutor or maybe another text resource for this material? Withdrawling several times does not look good on a transcript. Even if you have a bad teacher, you will probably have the same bad teacher next semester. Anatomy is hard stuff... a lot of memorizing and material and it goes by real quick. If you think you are able to stay in and get a C, I would suggest that. I would also suggest using the book student companion website if it has one. Starting all over again would be very depressing for me.

Try to learn as much as you can... pass this class... and then keep reviewing because some nursing classes are a lot harder than anatomy. You will need it again with pathophysiology, pharmacology and nursing theory classes.

Good Luck.. You can do it!!!!

Is there anyway to get some extra credit? Don't drop! I know a 'C' isn't good, but dropping the same class twice might be worst. I would talk to your counselor and to your teacher. You will encounter bad teachers from time to time...YOU have to pick up the slack there. I had a horrible physiology teacher, horrible! But, I used every resource possible and managed to pull off a 'B', Flashcards, websites, group study.... I can honestly say I didn't really learn anything from her, but I passed the class.

I have to remind myself to not make things harder than they really are. Just go one section at a time, what are you learning in your class right now?

I second the advice to get a tutor. That one-on-one help can be awesome, if the tutor is good. Most schools have free tutoring!
