I'm starting a Gross Dissection course in my CRNA program this semester and the professor told us we were lucky because most CRNA programs lack this course. He mentioned something about virtual or digital ways of learning and how disadvantaged it was. I had always assumed all CRNA programs had a dissection course and was surprised to hear most didn't, considering regional blocks and central lines are a core component to the careerDid you have one during your training and if you didn't do you feel you were taught as well with a digital or virtual method?
We had gross anatomy lab, and my program still offers that for all the APRNs (CRNA, WHNP, FNP, MHNP, PCNS).
I think the timing of the course plays a big part in its usefulness. We took it our first semester in a front loading program, so I did not find it as helpful for when I started my PNB rotation or started doing CVLs.
