:crying2:Once again I've failed my NCLEX LVN for the 2nd time and what I felt the first time is even harder this time. I'm so devastated, I for sure felt I passed this time but yesterday as I opened up the envelope and saw in BOLD letters "HAVE NOT PASSED" I felt like i let my family down and myself. I have great family support but I really wanted this time to be able to help my family financially but I was shut down again, I prayed and studied my butt off and in the end I was left shattered. Nevertheless, I won't give up I'm gonna get myself together and get back in study mode and give it all I got and more. Congrats to all LVN's who passed and to all who have not passed god bless and better luck next time and lets keep our heads up, eventually our dreams of becoming an LVN will become reality.

So sorry to hear that. What have you been doing to study? And what did you change the 2nd time? This may give clues as to how we can offer help. Keep a positive attitude and keep repeating to yourself, " I can do this. I will pass! ":D
my studying consisted of purchasing the Q-bank from kaplan which I dedicated myself in answering q's everyday, not only was I doing the online tests but I also typed out the q's so I could have it handy to review, I have Lippincott's new format q's, morrison media's NCLEX-PN secrets study guide, and Saunders Q & A review books. I'm not a great test taker, i'm more of a hands on person, so when I test i either over analyze my q's or start freaking out which is exactly what I did during my first tests, during the second exam i totally focused and did exactly what I needed to do and be calm, rested and positive, but still no luck. I was above the passing on 3 sections and the rest near passing.
So what will you do different this time is the big question? When I took my LPN boards a friend told me some priceless advise.
When you look at each question, cover the answers with the paper ( or whatever they use nowdays ) then form the answer in your head before you look at the answers available. This should give you clues to the answer or help you eliminate 1-2 possible wrong ones.
I would suggest trying Suzanne's Plan, I hear great things about it. I have not done it personally, however, I will if I don't pass next week.
Keep positive and keep studying. Be sure you do something a little different this time based on budget & time. I'll be wishing you lots of luck and look foward to seeing you post that you have passed.
Thank you, I will keep that in mind and I hope the very best for you as well, good luck!

Hang in there, you will pass. Take a small break and then hit it hard again.

I failed the NCLEX-RN in May. It is devastating and like you I was near the passing standard. This time around I am going through Suzanne's plan.
Since you already have the Saunders book I suggest you try it. It's free and there are many people in this forum who have passed using her plan. When you are ready to begin studying again (I took two months off), take the quizzes at the end of each chapter (without studying the material beforehand). If you score above 75% move on to the next chapter but if you get less than 75% study the chapter. Retake the quiz but this time you need a score of at least 90% to move on. When you have completed the quizzes (this is called the "first tip"), contact Suzanne for her study plan.
You'll need at least 2 months prior to your test date to complete her program. You can do it!
Thank you so much, I will try anything and so I'll see to it that I get that suzannes plan. Right now I'm feeling more like i just want to forget about the non passing phase and just charge forward, because eventually I am sure to pass and I'm looking forward to that moment!

I know others have mentioned suzanne's plan and i don't know if it's for RNs only or both but i've heard good stuff about it. I suggest you try it. Look at the sticky she posted and send her a pm for her plan. Like i said, i've only heard good things about it so it might be your best shot right now.
Don't lose courage. There are people who've passed on their 5th try so don't make yourself feel you're the worst thing in the world. i know people who know their stuff and yet do bad on tests because of anxiety and other poor test taking strategies. Use this as a learning experience, figure out what you didn't do well, what needs improvement and work on that. if it's anxiety that's killing you, try to find a way to combat that.
This must be hard on you and your family but please do not lose hope. You made it through nursing school, you can do this.

Suzanne's plan can be used for both PN and RN all you need is the appropriate edition of Saunders i.e. 3rd for PN and 4th for RN
