Can you be more specific?

An RN delegating a task to an LPN, CNA? Or other personal?

Are you asking what happens to the RN?

Whom is delegating to whom?

MD to RN?

What exactly are you supposed to be writing about?

The conflict among co-workers?

Legal consequences?

An RN delegating to someone...say a CNA should know what is within the CNAs scope of practice and should follow up to insure the task was done per standards of care.

The CNA should also know what is within their scope and should speak up if they are delegated a task outside of their scope.

This is a VERY important concept, but the rules are based on state Nurse Practice Acts. In my state, we have very clear guidelines and rules - here is our Delegation Resource Packet. We have very clear distinctions between delegation and assignment.... and delegation only happens with RN to non-licensed; RN - LVN is assignment. But of course, you need to become familiar with the rules & regs for your state.
