How common is it for nursing programs to allow to defer enrollment? I'm applying for the Fall of '14 but I'm hoping they'll let me defer until the next semester so I can save some more $$$.
I'll call them, but I am just curious about how common it is.

My program does not allow it.

It's up to the specific school so you would have to call a nursing advisor and ask. My questions is why are you going to apply if you want to defer anyway? Why not just apply for the following semester?
Why not apply? Besides the fact that I'm not 100% sure I'd defer yet, it would give me peace of mind knowing I have a guaranteed spot the following semester.
I guess that makes sense. I was just curious.

There are some programs that do defer enrollment, but you may want to reach out to your school to confirm whether or not they do as well.
So.. looks like it's a case by case type of thing. But I don't know.. I feel like if I apply and get that acceptance letter then it'll be hard to defer. I just may be too excited.

The University I attend will not allow it. If you do not accept your seat, it is given to the next person on the waiting list. I imagine it varies from school to school.

Both programs I got accepted into allowed it. As a matter of fact, Im deferred in my BSN because I couldnt decide between that and an ADN.
But as previously mentioned, it is program-specific
