Do you ever have a bedbug situation at your office/clinic? What do you do for it? I'm terrified I will take bedbugs home and I would just die. Blood and guts do not bother me. Bugs are disgusting beyond all belief to me though..

Ewwwww. I wouldn't take any purse, bags, etc from work to home.. I would even leave my shoes outside.

We just had this last week in our clinic. We didn't find out until we had roomed the patient. We just called environmental services after the patient left, and they did whatever it is they do to clean the room. Luckily, I don't have to go in that room very often.
I keep my purse locked in a drawer in my office and I don't take any infested patients in there, but if I have to discharge or draw or whatever for a patient in a room who I know has bedbugs, what am I supposed to do? Today I came home and threw all my clothes and coat in the laundry ASAP and washed hot. I don't know what to do though, they just let these patients with scabies and bedbugs come in and sit in the waiting room, lab, and patient rooms, do nothing, and I know they don't clean chairs. I sprayed the room down with nix but I don't think that helps. I hate bugs and my job thinks it's no big deal.
Our janitor doesn't hardly replace the toilet paper and I know isn't trained to deal with bedbugs. Awe have no policy and usually they do absolutely nothing. There's a lot of roaches/ants and things like that. They don't clean the floors, bathrooms, or anything. There's dust so thick on the vents it's like a mountain ridge covered in snow, just upside down. The place is filthy. We only have one working exit door... But back to the point. EW BUGS what should I do?
I put my shoes outside but it's not quite freezing and I have to wear them tomorrow, they aren't washable...
Find a different job?
I'm obviously trying to do that lol.
