Goodmorning Everyone!
I received my acceptance letter for Davenport's Warren campus for PN Fall 2014 last week! I'm so excited. After going through a crazy process with ITT-Canton (ADN) program and deciding to NOT attend and getting an intial denial for early admission at Davenport, I am so anxious to finally start a nursing program.
Any others receive their letter of acceptance?
Anything you want share current students and alumni?

Hi , I was also accepted to the program as well and I'm soooo ready to start this journey! I was put on the alternate list for the BSN program and waiting for an answer for that. I really want to get into the BSN program but I'm thankful to be accepted into this one. I have been out of school for a year and I'm just ready to get back into school. I wish you well in the program !
Congrats! I'm excited too! It's been a long time coming for me as well. I was even about to apply for respiratory therapy (at HFCC) but nursing is where my heart is. I can not wait to start and finish this program. I am currently employed by DMC and they do have hire LPN's anymore as far as I know (and I love working for DMC), but I have worked long term care and am excited to start working with the elderly population again. I was denied for the BSN intially as well. But I am going to reapply.
Do you know anyone in the program or have you heard anything about it. I'm just curious to know how it is
I haven't as of yet. I hope someone responses. I see some Davenport students here at DMC doing clinicals, but I'm sure they are probably BSN students. But if I see anyone soon, I am going to stop and ask them because I'm sure the programs are similar.
Ok... Until then I guess we'll just have to wait until orientation lol. I'm excited but a little nervous at the same time
IKR!?!? I sent off my deposit yesterday.

Hi,
How long is the davenport Lpn program and what is the cost and do you have to have any pre-requisites?
It's 3 semesters. You can check the price on the website for next years tuition rate, it goes by credit hour. I had all my pre-reqs done except for A & P 1-2 (4 cr. each), which you can take in the program...but if I could do it all over again, I would take A & P before starting the nursing program.
You need a 80% to pass each nursing class. I just finished my first semester!!!!!!
Best wishes!

I completed DU-Midland LPN program this summer. During the middle of our year, they changed some of the planning and "synced" their coursework with the Warren campus. It put a delay on getting grades back, and it also meant that the tests were written by teachers we didn't have (Warren teachers)...and that Warren students were getting tests written by Midland teachers.
I took AP2 my first semester. That was tough. But when Med/Surg came about in January I just kept the same pace I had...a lot of people struggled with the extra load of work.
I was one of the first people licensed and had a great job waiting for me. Anyway. Good luck to you all! It's a great program :) I'm just waiting to get into an LPN to RN transition program now.

Thank you so much for the inspiration! I'm happy to hear from a graduate of DU that's not in the BSN program at Warren (as I will be transferring to an LPN-RN community college program). Yea when they told me the tests were not just from our instructors, I thought "now why in the hell would they do that?". But I guess they figure that will let them know about the instructors versus the students. IDK.
