Data Entry Clerk

Currently, I am a Miami Dade college student, taking the prerequisites for Generic Nursing Part-time. I also work full-time and I have two children at home and this is why I can not attend full-time. I am currently taking HG & Develop and Microcomputer. I still have to take mat 1033 and 1105, A & P I & II, Chem with lab, and microbiology. I do not any idea why they are so strict with the math because when you start working in the real world, all the rest goes down the drain. I work for UM Pediatrics, and if you see what nurses do, you pay so much for college and burn your eye lashes. Now, I have the hard classes to do and I do not know if I should take some over spring and summer. Can anybody advise me?? Is the classes so hard over spring and Summer?? I am planning to appy for the program, hopefully by August 2011 or2012.

Thanks.

My experience has been that hard classes are better over the summer. The session is shorter so they have to cram more material in a short amount of time, but it usually means less people in class (more attention from instructor if needed), fewer exams, and in some cases a lighter load. (I'm sure this is not always the case; however).

I took one of my speach classes over the summer (I'm terrified of public speaking) and we had less speaches than the regular semester. Also, there were only about 10 students in the class verses 35-50 during spring/fall semesters. I wouldn't take more than one difficult class over the summer, but I do recommend taking at least one hard class over the summer. You may be surprised how much easier it can be.

I know!

Now that I've been an RN for a little over 2 years, I can tell you that the math of nursing is very simple. You are lucky that at MDC they allow calculators, at BC they don't.

Math classes is all about education and $$. A few years ago, mat1033, mac1105 was not required to get into the nursing program.

What I am finding out with math, that it is all about practicing the problems.

hang in there, study hard and you can do it all.
