I've done all my generals and start core classes next semester. How are the teachers? I've gotten a little scared since I read another post by some Wisconsin students saying that the teachers scream at them and fail people over stupid things. Hoping its not like that here.
I have had some great supportive and encouraging clinical instructers. I have heard a about a couple that are a little problematic but mostly I think our clinical instructers are pretty good. The things to remember is that show up early for clinicals, be prepared, and do your homework and you will be fine.
Good luck when you start It will be almost done before you know it.

Hi I'm a 4th semester student of CVTC I plan to graduate in Dec. I've had a good experience there. As long as you attend your classes, do your work, and are early for clinicals you be ok. Which campus are you at?
I am at the health education building in eau claire on clairemont
I'm at the River Falls Campus but we come over there for HPS lab.
What do you think of the HPS lab? personally I like it, gives you feedback in somewhat realistic situations. I just take it a a learning experiance but others complain saying that it doesnt help them but I view it differently.
I guess HPS is ok but a bit unrealistic. It won't happen very often that you have 4 nurses caring for 1 pt. You really do have to just take it as a learning experience, at least you really can't kill the pt, like does happen to the computer at times. Some of my classmates take it so personally if they don't figure out right away what is going on with the 'pt' or if PJ is critical of our performance. I really don't know what to make of PJ though, I'm glad our instructor is there too to help with the simulation.
How often do you guys get in to the lab? We were there 3 times during 3rd semester, I just wish that since we have to drive so far we could just do all the senarios on the same day. At least you are right there.
Usually it is maybe once a clinical I have done it really only three times in the last two semesters and i have two more to go so probably will have to do more. I dont take any of the criticism personally there because it is just a learning experiance and they expect you to make mistakes there and its better there then on a real patient.
