Current LPN, kicked out of RN, exploring different career options

Hi everyone.

I'm a LPN. I was in a bridge LPN to RN program. I was passing. However, I had to miss two clinical days due to sickness. I'm being kicked out of the program due to this. I'm devastated.

My school usually does not admit students again after they have been kicked out.

I am a LPN but this doesn't make enough money for me to support myself and I'm honestly not happy being a LPN.

I'm looking at different career options.

I'm curious as to what you guys would recommend.

Specializes in Geriatrics, Home Health.

Are there any other LPN to RN programs you could apply for?

Specializes in LTC and Pediatrics.
Are there any other LPN to RN programs you could apply for?

This is my thought also. Check other schools and see if you could start their LPN to RN program

I wouldn't give up so easily, but that's just me.

As far as for careers other than Nursing.. There are endless options. I'm not sure if you honestly expect us to guess what career would suit you? I don't think anyone can answer that but yourself. If you want to stay in Nursing try a different type of nursing. There are still plenty of options for LPN's.

I would see what classes/credits would transfer. If you were at the point of clinicals, then perhaps you can explore other programs and not have to retake a program.
