current info on abrazo needed

don't. no one i know likes or stays at abrazo facilities--especially travelers. abrazo has limited core staff, poor ratios, and very few resources when one is in a bind.

don't let your recruiter sucker you into it. travelers are very happy at mayo, st. joe's, scottsdale healthcare, and some banner facilities. avoid abrazo at all cost. ( i know, i used to work at one of the facilities).

I am currently doing clinicals at an Abrazo hospital and all of the nurse's that I have been assigned to like it there. The 5-6 that I have asked have said that it is getting better and that they liked it. I am at one of there older facilities, so it is a little lacking in those areas i.e. equipment is older, rooms a little cramped, etc. The med/surg floor the few times I have been on it has had a 6:1 ratio (weekends). Just my take-hope it helps.

I work at an abrazo.....it's not bad...but then i havn't worked in anyother system....i think that we are the second largest.....

I work at an Abrazo facility too and love it there. They're really trying to improve things for the staff and are even giving me the option of going to a 3 shift a week pool position with only a year of experience. We're also still able to pick up extra shifts if we want to and I have never been cancelled from a regular shift (after 5.5 months there). The benefits are improving and I've found our staff to be really close and supportive of each other. Sometimes it can be hard to find some equipment, but I worked at St. Joes and it was the same there so...

I guess it depends on what area you work in whether it's good or bad. That can be said for any hospital though.

Can you tell us what specific hospital? The hospitals in the Abrazo system all vary with what opinions we will give. Also, there is one Abrazo hospital in a very bad neighborhood which they couldn't pay me enough to leave my car there while I worked!

The recruiter just said Abrazo she did not mention which site which is part of why I am here, I want to know if there is a location I should avoid, if they are all bad or if people enjoy it, if the benefits are good etc....

Abrazo hospitals that I would avoid are Maryvale, Memorial, and probably Baptist. Memorial is the one with the very bad neighborhood problem.

I do not mean to offend anyone who works at the above hositals. It's just I wouldn't want to work there.

I do clinicals 3 days a week at Baptist and have rotated through several departments and everyone there has been great. The neighborhood isn't that great; however, wherever there is a hospital there will be crazy people (other than nurses)!

No she hasn't told me which locations have positions available, I think part of the reason is that I am not relocating until may-juneish. she has sent me a packet with benefit info and stuff like that, and some generic info on az. I have not been in az for 16 years so I am not really sure about where good and not so great neighborhoods are any more, so I figured a little research and then I would tell the recruiter where I was interested in working, so I appreciate all the comments!

I work at Maryvale....and the area is pretty bad but the majority of our clients are illegal...which is fine to me..... we don't get massive amounts of etoh or drug withdrawls....as one would think because of the area....groovy jeff is right....crazy people are everywhere....

by the way i leave my windows down and car unlocked all the time.....
