CSUSB Fall 2017

Published

Hello everyone. I wanted to start a thread for those of us who applied for Cal State San Bernardino's nursing program Fall 2017 cohort. We can share stats to get an idea of the applicant pool. I have a 3.9 prerequisite GPA & 87% on my teas. I attended the information session, have 1 letter of recommendation & I'm a Riverside county resident.

What are your stats? It's been a long wait, but we're coming down to the wire & should be hearing back soon. Good luck to everyone!

Hi! I also applied for Fall 2017:) I am a second bachelor's student and recently graduated from this University of Redlands this past April with a BA degree in Biology.

Here are my stats:

3.9 GPA

85% TEAS

2 Letters of Rec

Departmental Info Session

Bilingual

San Bernardino County

Your stats look great! I am super excited to find out if we got in, but the long wait is definitely nerve wracking:p

Your stats look great too! Let's hope both of ours are good enough to get us a spot. Do you know if they have an alternate list? I also applied to RCC & I'm an alternate.

I hope so!

And do you mean like a waiting list? Or if someone who gets in decides not to do it, then do they let in the next person that would be on the list?

Hey guys! I'm so happy to see that you guys created this thread because the wait has been so long and I was beginning to get anxious, haha.

Also, my stats are pretty low and I'm beginning to think I won't have any chance in fall and maybe looking toward winter. Although, I'm trying to stay positive because anything can happen.

Regarding your question about an alternate/waiting list, I know someone who got a letter of denial, got a phone call saying they were put on the waiting list, a second letter saying they were denied, and then a phone call that they were accepted. So truly, anything can happen. I think most of the reasoning is behind people denying their spots and them opening it to the next qualified applicant. I guess it's just a waiting game :(

Yes. The alternate list is for scenarios where students give up their spot, fail to pass background or don't show up to mandatory orientation or first day of school, etc... also, I got accepted into RCCs program a few days ago so there definitely is hope if you're on an alternate list. I'm still waiting to hear from CSUSB before I make a decision on which school to attend.

Hey guys, does anyone know when the mandatory orientation will be or when they have had it in the past? Trying to plan an august vacation...

Stats:

3.8

94%

I'm not sure when the mandatory orientation is...maybe you can call the nursing office and ask when it usually is:)

Thanks! Yea I've tried asking a couple times in the past few weeks and they don't know yet :/

Hi everyone! I have a question regarding the application process because I am confused. When any of you got accepted into the program what were the next steps? I thought I got accepted into the program when the acceptance letter came, and so I waited and paid for the admissions fee to CSUSB, and continued to wait for the orientation date. I never received an email from my school in regards to when I should sign up and so I missed my orientation date and I just called the nursing program as well and they told me that they never recieved my TEAS score in the first place and so I cant attend the nursing program this fall. I have a receipt that I sent the TEAS score in January, but I never received a call or any notice that it was missing from CSUSB's files, and I had no way of knowing if they received it or not. I just assumed they did receive it, when I received the congratulations letter.

How was the application process for you? I thought I did everything right, but I am confused at the moment on what I did wrong and what I could have done differently.

Please let me know your process!

We have yet to actually be accepted into the nursing program. More than likely, we all have been accepted as a pre nursing major. The only orientation we've had so far was the SOAR orientation but that included all incoming transfer students from every major. Is the TEAS test the only thing you're missing from your application? Have you asked them if they take scores electronically? If I'm not mistaken, they'll take your highest TEAS score. So I know it sucks to wait until the next application period, but it may be a blessing in disguise cause you have an opportunity to raise your score & increase your points.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I submitted a printed copy of my TEAS score from the ATI website. Every school is different though. For example, I also applied to RCC & they only accept electronic scores.
