I am wanting to get my CRNI. I took the VA-BC test and it was not that difficult but I have heard CRNI is more difficult.
Does anyone have any tips? Is the study guide enough for the test or should I get more information beyond that? I am taking classes for my BSN right now so I haven't even got the study guide or started studying yet. I was just wondering what I am getting into!
:) Thanks!

Get the DVD, I think it is by far the best study guide.

Agree with Asystole... Get the INS teaching DVD's. DO you have study partners that are also taking the test? The CRNI exam is a comprehensive examination and you need to be fully prepared to sit for it.

Thanks y'all. I never would have picked the DVD just the book but sounds like I may need too.
No study partner, it's just me. I am trying to talk our infusion nurse into getting hers with me but she is working on her chemo certification right now.

I use the INS book and Plumers Principles and Practices of Intravenous Therapy and yes it is harder than the VA-BC. The focus is on the major categories they list. Know Fluid and Electrotypes really well and Infection Control. Look at their sample questions in each category to get a good idea of how they test. If you are in INS member you can go into their journal section and a few years back they had articles on each category and published many of their used test questions. I have them printed somewhere and if I can find them I can give you the dae of publication. They are worth finding!
Just looking at this again! I have been busy with my BSN, thank you! I will look into it I am a member of INS.

I know this post is super old, but I keep hearing about these INS teaching DVDs. I'm sitting for the CRNI exam in March and I'd love to use these, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Are they part of a package/come with one of the books? Or sold separately? Thanks
