When can you legally begin using your credentials after completing your bachelors? It is my understanding that you must wait until conferral date and not before? Anyone know what the answer is?

You cannot legally call yourself a nurse until you pass the boards, whether it's LPN or RN. To call oneself a nurse without that is illegal and one can get into a lot of trouble. Check your state's BON website for more information.
Sorry, I should have quantified I have been an RN for "greater than 10 years" but recently completed my BSN 30 May 2017. Conferral date is not until 12 August. My actual question should have been, Am I correct in believing that I can not use the BSN credentials until after conferral date? Thanks for your prompt reply.

I would not use the initials until you have officially received the degree from the school.

I used mine as soon as it hit my transcript.
