When we arrive for our pcs on sat. morning, what forms do they actually give us at that time to do our test? Is it all the blank forms in the study guide? do you just sit down and write down your nmemonics that you have memorized on the back of them? Thank you in advance to anyone that reply's :yeah:

Appendix H of the study guide has a blank PCS recording form, including the Kardex. That's what you'll receive. In Mansfield, it was printed on 11x17 paper and folded in half, so it was an 8.5x11 booklet.
In Mansfield, we were instructed to write our careplans first; once the careplan was approved by the CE, we could write our grid/mnemonics on the blank pages at the end of the booklet before entering the implementation phase/patient's room.

You actually get the info. and forms for your first PCS Friday night after the Labs to take back to your hotel. You can fill out care plans and basic pt info like base line vital signs you can look at the pt chart for a few minutes Friday night when you orient to the floor. BUT do not fill out pnuemonics or grids yet. You must turn the paperwork in at the begining of your PCS on Saturday for the CE to check when the CE hands the forms back then you can do Pneumonics and grids on it. This is the only PCS you will be allowed to take from the hospital to work on all others you will have to fill out during the PCS. The forms are in a booklet and they are identical to the examples in the CPNE guide.
Hope this helps. Traci:wink2:
Dur ... thanks for clarifying that, TraciGN! Would have helped if I'd read the question more closely! Yes, you get that whole thing on Friday night, and you can actually write your careplans for your first patient on Friday night, but not your grid -- that you still can't do until Saturday.
