Try the "Professional Review Guide for the RHIA and RHIT Examinations" by Patricia Schnering. Its the closest thing I found to practice questions for the exam. The book comes with a CD full of practice questions.

The "Professional Review Guide for the RHIA and RHIT Examinations" (by Schnering) was really helpful, especially the CD.

I'm having to pick out the sections related to the CPHIMS exam as not all sections in Schnering's book are on the exam.

I already have work experience in information and management systems in healthcare and nursing, and am looking to become certified.

...the exam also contains many application and analysis questions. Many years ago, I found practice questions to help me a lot on the NCLEX. That's why I'm looking for application and analysis type questions to practice for the CPHIMS exam.

AHIMA came out with "H.I.T. or Miss: Lessons Learned from Health Information Technology Implementations" (by Leviss). You could probably find it on the AHIMA store web site, Amazon, or Half.

The "H.I.T. or Miss" book has 17 case studies describing failures in HIT projects and lessons learned from those failures. It could help you with the application and analysis questions. Just a thought. Let us know if it helps.

I make several free PMP quiz programs and a CPHIMS self quiz program available for free. These are ".NET" programs so you will have to have that environment - most Windows operating systems have it already.

There are screen grabs so you sort of get an idea of what it looks like. You will need to email me the code it gives you when you run it and I email you the unlock key. You can update the program files (2 of them) at any time and the same unlock key will work.

I update it about every 10 days and now it has 75 questions in various formats with a review mode.
