cpd test

I have a book of abbreviations. The only things listed for CPD are the following:

  • cephlopelvic disproportion (which is an Obstetrical term)
  • chorioretinopahy and pituitary dysfunction
  • chronic peritoneal dialysis
  • citate-phosphate-dextrose (which I could not find in either of my lab refereneces)

In what context was this test listed? For what kind of patient? Is is possible you may have copied one of the letters incorrectly?

If the context were forensic psych, could be referring to the clear and present danger test. Can't think of any others.

By the way, citrate-phosphate-dextrose is an anticoagulant commonly used in bags of donor blood. (I was a blood bank nerd in a previous life.)

. . .citrate-phosphate-dextrose is an anticoagulant commonly used in bags of donor blood. (I was a blood bank nerd in a previous life.)

I was wondering why those three would be paired together like that with no other explanation.

Any other takers?

i read the term cpd in the nursing care plan for one patient than i saw the staff nurse drowing fluids from the pt. cathetert .

Probably refers to peritoneal dialysis as Daytonite suggested, but it's a treatment for kidney disease, not actually a test.

thank you for your responses , i will chech that with my teacher

ssssorry, it is cbd , and it means continues bladder drainage

CPD testing stands for Continuing Professional Development and is a new standardized way of testing in many professions. Is used in new employment and yearly compentency testing. There must be specific tests for each individual area of specialty.
