CP & Visascreen, are they the same?

Published

Hi, everyone! I'm a nurse from the Philippines. :)

I passed the IELTS last April and the CGFNS exam last September. A few days ago, CGFNS sent me autoreply e-mail with this message: "Congratulations, CGFNS has approved you for a VisaScreen certificate. Your certificate has been shipped via DHL.." My problem is I have not applied for the Visascreen Certificate yet, just the Certification Program, so I'm really confused about this. :scrying: Is the Certification Program the same as the Visascreen Certificate? Does this mean I have a Visasceen certificate already, or did I just understand this wrongly?

Please help...

Do forgive me if someone already asked this in another thread. I usually go through all threads thoroughly before I ask anything. It's just that I'm still recovering from carpal tunnel syndrome, and my wrists just cant take any more navigating than I already do. Thanks..:scrying:

no they are not the same, however, since you already passed the cgfns exam and ielts, that meansyou are also qualified to get visa screen but you also have to apply for it....it costs 498dollars if i am not mistaken, VISA screen is more important as it makes you qualifyfor the sponsorship or petition by theemployee... however it does not allow you to practive nursing ... call cgfns if you want and start preparing for nclex....

congratulations:rotfl:

If you have done your CGFNS exam through their CP the end result is the same - the VisaScreen is part of the CP program. However, because you don't need CGFNS exam for many States now you can just apply for VisaScreen alone & that's where your confusion has come from I think.

CP is the CGFNS exam passing with the basic English, it is not the same as the Visa Screen Certificate.

The Certificate that you will be receiving is the CGFNS Certificate, not the Visa Screen Certificate. Looks like a glitch in their system, especially if you never applied and paid for it.

Visa Screen Certificate requires that you pass either the CGFNS exam or the NCLEX-RN exam, and most go the route of just the NCLEX-RN exam like the poster above stated.
