COT and timeline

Hi everyone! So my packet will go before the AF board for the Sept. 23rd deadline. I've been told it's usually somewhere in November when we find out if we are selected or not. Being hopeful that I get a select, can anyone tell me a realistic timeframe of when I could expect to leave for COT after being selected? I also really wanted to get stationed at Ramstein, Germany ( I'm 46N3E) or anywhere overseas; what is the reality about if that's a realistic hope right out of the commission gate? Thanks in advance!

In in Denver, where are you?

I did MEPS in July. I'm prior service AF so I was really dreading MEPS. Downtown Dallas is not fun. Yes, my credit check was completed today and that was the last thing for my packet. Should be turned in tomorrow!

Your experience may differ from mine, but I recall something in my credit check paperwork saying that if it was being run, authorization to oath was ~1 month away max. You may be asked to complete SF86 soon which is the very long document to start your security clearance investigation.

I haven't seen anything like that. I believe the credit check was just making sure I didn't have anything in collections or late payments or a bad credit history. It was just something the board needs to see.

I also have the SF86 paperwork, but I already have a Secret Clearance valid till 2024, so I was told that once I log into the system, a lot of the info will still be there? I hope so, because it is super long.

My recruiter said not to worry about it till we knew from the boards. It takes about 2 years for your clearance to be adjudicated so if selected, we will be working on a tentative clearance.

Yes, I'm assuming my recruiter is not worried about it until I hear from the boards.

Has anyone heard when we will hear of results from this October board?

My recruiter told me 3-4 weeks after October 8th.

I was told the end of October tentatively lol. I think time has been going slower and slower

I know, I try not look at the calendar every day, hoping it will be just end of Oct.

I'm so anxious. But also trying to not get my hopes up. Waiting is just the hardest though
