under contract but I never signed

So my manager asked me if I would extend and I agreed, then I contacted my recruiter to work out the details, which included some dates off for housing issues, and a higher OT rate. I hadn't heard anything for a while then I called my recruiter who was conveniently on vacation. Finally I talk to my manager again and she said she already received the contract and everything is good and signed/confirmed. I asked her to email me the contract so I can see it.

1) there were no dates off in the contract

2) My OT rate was the same

3) Most importantly I never signed a contract for extension so how can this be legal.

Have you ever had an agency sign a contract on your behalf? I emaild my recruiter with these same questions but havent heard back yet.

Are you saying your recruiter agreed to specific days off and a change in overtime rate? Do you have documentation? The manager at the hospital emailed you a copy of the assignment letter from the agency?

It doesn't matter about an assignment letter from the agency to the hospital, if you didn't agree, it doesn't bind you. But yes, business can be very informal. The hospital said you agreed to an extension, and someone in the absence of your recruiter went ahead and sent a confirmation.

What's the issue? Have you started the extension?

My recruiter and manager agreed to the dates and thankfully I was able to work it where it isn't an issue in the upcoming schedule...its only 3 days off. My recruiter said she would check on the increased OT and get back to me and never did. However when the contract was sent to my manager it specifically said "no specific schedule time off listed". My current contract ends April 11 and the extension starts April 11-may 22. I think my main issue is

1) I didn't necessarily agree to the contract in the absence of no OT rate increase...what if that was a deal breaker for me?

2) Mostly I don't like them signing or making promises on my behalf without my consent.

So your days off is a non-issue. Contract starts Sunday? That gives you time to resolve the overtime issue.

Unless you give them permission to, they cannot obligate you to the terms of a contract.

However, if you start working without it being resolved, you have tacitly accepted its terms.
