confused about nclex

i just migrated here in alaska, u.s last month and im a registered nurse in the philippines. i just decided todaythat i will take the nclex in califonia but im confused about the processing. is nclex pearson vue application for exam is different from the application form i should submit in California bon? can i apply at the same time at pearson vue and cali bon or i should process first the application in cali bon then apply in peason vue?is that correct? tnx. how long does it take the processing in cali bon? tnx alot. im really confused right now :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

    If you want to take the NCLEX in CA, then go to the CA BRN website and follow the instructions for the application. You have to apply for the license before a letter will be issued allowing you to schedule a testing appointment with Pearson Vue. You can look in the international forum for plenty of discussion about the process for getting a US license, if your original nursing license is from the Philippines.

    oh so i should apply first at CA brn then they will send me letter if im eligible to take nclex exam so thats the only time i can aPPLy to take the exam at pearson vue. tnx for the info calotter3. im still a bit confused maybe because im so anxious

    Do you plan on nursing in CA once you passed NCLEX or stay and work in Alaska? If stay in Alaska then I would suggest you apply to the state and meet their requirements as a foreign trained nurse as you may still have to meet them requirements

    Moved to the International forum as asking about application to be a nurse not how to study for NCLEX and remember you are not applying for NCLEX but to be a licensed nurse in the US, NCLEX is just a part of that process
