Conducting stress testing in CA

I know there have been a few posts regarding NP conducting stress testings but I still couldn't find the exact answer to my dilemma. The position I was offered is to conduct stress tests at a mobile unit in CA. The mobile unit will go to the contracted physician offices and perform the tests on location. The mobile unit does not have a medical director. As a NP, I will be conducting the stress test but the ordering physicians will be available in their respective offices while the tests are being performed. I couldn't find clear regulation on this at CA BRN's website. Would this be under my scope of practice?

I'd really appreciate your replies. Thanks.

I'm not a NP yet but I do work as an RN in a stress lab. We perform all stress test and the policy reads that the cardiologist only needs to be in the hospital and available for emergencies. We have NP's and PA's that also come and oversee the stress test at times and they too need to have their MD in the hospital. Not sure if this helps you not not.

You will need to have standardized procedures for each location that you preform stress testing since this is where the practice of nursing overlaps the practice of medicine. There is an advisory on the BRN web site that talks about standardized procedures and NPs worth reading.
